Where to Start
- The first thing you should do is Sign-up for our Newsletter. You won't get SPAMMED, I guarantee
that. You will get information about new features and
marketing techniques.
- Go to our
download page
and get
Good Keywords. This free software will help you build
keyword lists to help market your site and get indexed in
the popular search engines. Do another search on the top 10
keywords returned to break them down into sub-keyword list.
This should help you to tightly focus your list.
- You don't necessarily need a domain name, but you do need a web host.
- I recommend NetFirms, they offer a basic hosting package for only $4.95 per month. This site is proudly hosted by NetFirms.
- Free domain name registration and software to help get you started with your site, photo gallery or Blog.
- Easy to use web-based control panel and a web mail interface or POP3 support for 10 email addresses.
- You can see all the features on their comparison chart.
- Without a domain name, you will need to use a
sub-domain or directory. A sub-domain example is
http://directory.predaina.com. You've seen the directory
named sites such as
http://www.predaina.com/newbie/. Just get a domain name, they are cheap and
your site will appear more professional.
- When building your site, include the following pages:
- A Contact page (with your current information)
- An About page (about you, your store or service)
- A Privacy Policy (to let your visitors know you're not a SPAMMER)
- A Terms of Use page (to avoid conflicts)
- An Archives page (to store old newsletters or Press Releases)
- and a Link page (to build downlinks and gain Page Rank)
All of these pages should be linked and easily reachable from
your home page. - Test your site design,
sign-up for a free
link referral account. This will start your traffic flow
and people will review your site. You can get some ideas
from the other sites there as well.
- It's also a good idea to use different browsers to
view your site. Microsoft's Internet Explorer is fairly
forgiving when rendering a page, but Firefox™
is strict and the output may look quite different than you
expect. You can also try
Opera, but the user base is pretty low.
- You need traffic. Traffic Exchanges are a good place to start and you can get a free account at Checks 4 Free along with 1000 hits and a Free traffic building eBook just for signing up.
- Traffic exchanges come in several types, the most
popular are the manual exchange and the auto-surf.
- Manual exchanges require that you view websites and click a button when finished to view the next site. These nearly ensures that your website is viewed by a real person, possibly getting some sales in the process. It's also a good way to quickly test your sales page since these are the hardest users to sell. This link will allow you to view a traffic exchange demo to see how it works.
- Auto-surf exchanges display each website for a certain amount time and then automatically loads the next website. Users will usually earn less credits but can turn on the display and continue doing something else. Your page doesn't get viewed by human eyes but you do get the traffic and that can help with your traffic ranking. Try Top Surfer for heavily used site and you can get a load of credits for viewing emails.
- You can use an advertising suite like LinkScout. This will give you the most flexibility to advertise all of your websites and affiliate programs. The LinkScout suite gives you credits for viewing site that you can search for from your own suite, this way you only need to view pages that are of interest to you.
- You should submit your site to the search engines
and the various web directory services. It will take some
time to get listed, so the sooner you start the better.
- View our article index, it contains over one hundred e-marketing articles that you can use to gain new ideas for letting the world know about your new website.
